Daily Rhythm
Our days follow a gentle, reliable rhythm that supports the young child’s sense of security and well-being, creating a natural balance between breathing in (guided, focused activities) and breathing out (free play and movement).
A Note on Rhythm and “Breathing In & Breathing Out”
In Waldorf early childhood education, the day is shaped by a steady rhythm that alternates between moments of focused, guided activity (breathing in) and times of free movement and play (breathing out). This natural flow supports the child’s physical, emotional, and social development, helping children feel secure, balanced, and deeply at home in their bodies and surroundings.
8:00 am – Arrival
A calm and welcoming beginning to the day, allowing children to arrive, settle in, and find their place within the group.
8:30 am – Circle Time & Games (Breathing Out)
Seasonal songs, verses, and movement games that playfully support the healthy physical, cognitive and social-emotional development of the child.
9:00 am – Morning Activity (Breathing In)
Painting, crafting, or movement activities guided by the teacher and aligned with the theme of the week.
9:30 am – Snack Time
Please send a snack and a water bottle for your child. An organic lunch will be provided.
10:00 am–12:00 pm – Outdoor Play & Exploration (Breathing Out)
Ample time for free imaginative play, movement, and exploration of the natural world around us. Children may also choose to continue earlier creative work, as interest arises.
12:00–1:00 pm – Lunch & Story Time (Breathing In)
After lunch, the children listen to a story and enjoy a peaceful resting moment, giving space to settle the day’s impressions. An organic lunch will be provided.
1:00–2:00 pm – Free Play & Pick-Up (Breathing Out)
A relaxed afternoon of free play, allowing children to integrate the day’s experiences until pick-up.
